Iron and Wine Hit the Road to Celebrate Beast Epic

This month, Iron & Wine will embark on a nationwide tour in support of Beast Epic, their first record of new material in over four years. Kicking off the trek with two sold-out shows at Chicago’s Thalia Hall, Iron & Wine’s sixth studio album has been hailed as a “return to form” harking back to the intimate and acoustic material of principal singer songwriter Sam Beam’s earlier work.
The band appeared on CBS Saturday Morning performing “Call It Dreaming” and “Thomas County Law” and did a session for Pitchfork Live upon the album’s release. A series of shows in the mid-Atlantic followed including a headlining slot at Fayetteville Roots Festival and culminating with a live recorded show at Third Man Records. Beam also made his first appearance at Americana Festival during an intimate solo acoustic set at the historic landmark venue Station Inn, followed later in the month by an appearance at the Clio Awards where he was nominated for his version of the classic “Time After Time.”
This new incarnation of Iron & Wine’s band features Eliza Hardy Jones (keys), Sebastian Steinberg (bass), Beth Goodfellow (drums/percussion) and Teddy Rankin-Parker (cello). The US Tour will be supported by powerhouse singer songwriter John Moreland, except on select shows which include openers, new avant-guard rock duo, Ohmme (full dates listed below).
